Your Options Are Not Over After A Conviction

Appeal lawyers in New York with extensive experience winning criminal appeals in court are hard to find. Attorney Hardy will provide aggressive appellate representation to overturn convictions, reverse judgments, and protect your rights across NYC

Mr. Hardy has successfully handled hundreds of complex appeals in the New York Appellate Division, Court of Appeals, and federal circuit courts. Whether you need to challenge a criminal conviction or contest a civil judgment, we provide strategic, results-driven representation.

A conviction is not the end of the road. You may still have the option of filing an appeal to challenge the lower court’s decision. To get this done, you will need an attorney’s assistance.

A case does not end in the lower court, so neither should your optimism nor your desire to see your case properly represented. Work with The Law Office of Glenn Hardy. Our founder, Glenn Hardy, has more than 30 years of experience in criminal law. We help clients throughout New York City appeal their convictions and challenge their sentences.

Two Post-Conviction Avenues

There are two basic avenues for seeking post-conviction relief. This is through direct appeals and a motion for a new trial.

Motions for new trials are sought through Statues 44.10 in state court and 22.55 in federal court. This motion is often based on new evidence or ineffective counsel at the initial trial, heard by the same judge who presided over the initial trial. These motions can be submitted after the initial trial or after a guilty plea.
Direct appeals are appeals from the decisions of the presiding judge at trial to an appellate court. These can be done after a trial when reversal is possible.
We can also explore options such as parole, habeas corpus proceedings, clemency, and many other alternatives.

Post-conviction relief is filled with complex regulations, red tape, and administrative procedures. You only get one chance at it, so you need an attorney whom you know is reliable. Mr. Hardy is a criminal defense attorney with 3 decades of experience. You can read testimonials about how he has helped previous clients with their relief.
